(http://phrets.com/runeforum/images/Os.gif) This is the shape of Oss in the Anglo Saxon Futhorc.  The Ansuz rune of the Elder Futhark morphed into "Os" in the 3 remaining rune poems.

Os byþ ordfruma ælere spræce,
wisdomes wraþu ond witena frofur
eorla gehwam eadnys ond tohiht.

     The mouth is the source of all language,
     a pillar of wisdom and comfort to wise men,
     a blessing and a joy to every knight.

     Estuary is the way of most journeys;
     but a scabbard is of swords.

Icelandic

Óss er algingautr

ok ásgarðs jöfurr,
ok valhallar vísi.
