Title: Sowelo
Post by: ejfinch on February 18, 2011, 09:43:03 AM
I find myself including this particular Rune in every working in which I use Runes. I'm not sure why-yet, I am just very drawn to this particular one. It feels very powerful to me. I really like the Icelandic poem-good stuff!

I am picking a rune per week and really getting to know them. This is the first one I drew. It's a very positive rune. With the actual sun finally coming out and it getting above 20 here it has all fit well.

It doesn't get much better than Sowelo (or Sowelo, or Sigil)!
It's a powerfully positive rune.

Even for those who use reverse runes, it's one of a handful that can't be reversed.

The Norwegian poem reminds me of catechism, and also zeitgeist the movie.

The Icelandic poem is interesting because it suggests the exact opposite of Isa. I suppose that's obvious in that it represents the sun, but being described as "destroyer" makes it sound that much more potent.

Just an FYI:

Whoops. I somehow overlooked the Poem post for Sowelo, they're supposed to be pinned and locked just for reference, so I moved all subsequent posts to this separate thread.
Carry on!
